Jennifer Cragg - JD LawJENNIFER L. CRAGG

(J.D. LL.B.)

I was raised in the small town of Strathmore, Alberta.

When I am not pursing my passion in Real Estate Law, I keep busy playing and watching hockey. I play several times a week during the regular season and travel to numerous tournaments throughout Alberta and British Columbia. Jason, my husband, and I are both season ticket holders for the Red Deer Rebels and have the common goal of seeing a game in every WHL building. So far we have watched a game in 13 of the 22 buildings. In the off-season I have played softball and continue to play ball hockey. Before starting in hockey I also competitively figure skated for five years.

After graduating from high school I went on to attend the University of Lethbridge where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Economics. I spent a lot of time in Lethbridge playing and watching hockey. I was fortunate enough to meet my future husband, Jason Cragg, when we were assigned to the same university recreational ice hockey and floor hockey team.

Next, I moved on to the University of Calgary where I received my Bachelor of Laws degree. I worked for the City of Calgary for three years during that same period of time. I was a dedicated season ticket holder for the Calgary Hitmen and loved to travel to away games and play hockey with the Junior Hockey Junkies gang.

After law school Jason and I knew we wanted to relocate to a smaller city and Red Deer was our first choice. We moved to Red Deer in 2009 and I immediately started working at a Law Firm in Red Deer. My primary practice area is Real Estate with some of my practice dedicated to Corporate Law and assisting clients with their Wills and Estates. I have also gained valuable knowledge in the field of Municipal Law when I worked as one of the solicitors for the City of Red Deer. My experience with Municipal Law has carried over to my Real Estate practice, particularly with respect to secondary suites, development permits, real property reports and municipal compliance.

On February 5, 2013, I left the law firm I was at and started my own practice under the name JD Law – Association of Independent Legal Practices

I currently sit on the Board of Directors for COSMOS as Vice President and am a member of Ducks Unlimited Canada

Red Deer, AB
T4N 1S6

After earning an Honours Degree in Political Science from the University of Alberta in 2009 and a Juris Doctor in 2011 from Bond University in Australia, Seal and his beautiful wife, Jody, moved to Red Deer to start their family and establish his Family Law practice.
Seal S. Nulliah recently joined JD Law to launch the opening of our New Matrimonial Department.

With a specialization in the areas of Collaborative Divorce, Common-Law Separation & Mediation, Seal takes a Common-Sense and practical approach to Family Law.

Seal hails from the coastal city of Durban, South Africa and relocated with his family to Edmonton in 1981. Seal is trained in the field of Sales & Asset Management and worked abroad extensively prior to embarking on his legal career.

Seal prefers Negotiation & Resolution over Court Litigation and in his last five years of practice has helped hundreds of clients navigate the perils of Divorce & Separation by utilizing some of the most amicable, cost-effective, and timely methods to resolve their Family Law disputes.

As a Registered Collaborative Lawyer & Mediator, Seal has been teaching the Parenting After Separation Course for the last three years. Teaching this course has reinforced Seal’s commitment to helping separating parties reduce conflict between them to increase co-operation, especially as it relates to Co-Parenting.

A Few Phrases You May Hear from Seal…

“In order of Importance to You, make a list of the Top 10 things you want from this Divorce.
OK, now once you’ve done that, take the Bottom 7 things and Cross them Off your list.
OK, now let’s focus on getting you your TOP 3!”

“The Decision a Trial Judge makes at the end of a $100,000 legal battle, will be no different than the Decision you and your Ex could have made over a $1.79 cup of coffee at Tim Hortons!”

“Let me ask you a question. Do you Love your children? Yes, of course you do.
Does your Ex Love your children too? Yes, maybe differently than you, but of course they do.”

“What about a Judge, do you think a Judge Loves your children?
No…. they don’t. They Care about them, but don’t Love them like you both do.”

“Now, let me ask you, Who do YOU think Should be in Charge of Making Important Decisions about your Children, someone who Loves them or someone who only Cares about them?”

 – The importance of maintaining the decision-making power and keeping matters out of court.

I would highly recommend Seal, not only for his professionalism but for his support, guidance and ability to provide the most efficient and quick process for myself and my children to move forward. Forever Grateful – L.M.

Mr. Nulliah is very straight-forward and honest. Seal and his team work, research, and diligently prepare which allows him to be very aggressive in negotiation and also in the courtroom. His straight-forward approach allows for options other than standing in front of a Judge, which helps save both time and money.

Seal is confident and strives for a fair outcome for all parties involved all while doing his best to educate and create open lines of communication.

Seal continues to impress me with his knowledge and experience and I am extremely happy with the outcome of my case thus far. For anyone looking for family law representation, I would recommend that you hire Seal before your Ex does! – M.B

Mr. Nulliah is extremely efficient and knowledgeable. He is full of resources, and if he cannot help you personally he will guide you in the direction of someone who can. He is straight-forward and will speak to you with confidence regardless of the outcome. I highly recommend  Seal. – Anon
